Strengthening energy security through modernised district heating in Kremenchuk
Introduction
Swedfund is financing a pre-feasibility study to identify investments that can strengthen and modernise the district heating system. The study will examine backup and distributed heat generation, energy-efficiency measures, network modernisation, digital control and opportunities to use renewable energy.
Kremenchuk’s district heating system is critical to the city’s energy supply but is affected by ageing infrastructure and the consequences of the war. The system is highly dependent on a combined heat and power plant that is both outdated and damaged.
