Supporting improved neonatal care and hospital reconstruction in Kherson Ukraine
Introduction
Swedfund supports the hospital by financing a feasibility study and a long term development plan for the reconstruction and modernisation of neonatal and paediatric care.
Kherson Regional Children’s Hospital is the only specialised healthcare facility for children and newborns in the region. During the war, the hospital’s neonatal building was severely damaged and is currently unusable, significantly limiting access to life‑saving care in an area where needs are substantial.
The initiative aims to create a basis for future investments and ensure access to safe, modern and energy‑efficient healthcare once conditions allow for full‑scale reconstruction.
