Swedfund approves first projects under Business Accelerator
Introduction
Swedfund has made its first support decisions under the Business Accelerator. The first approved projects are within the digital and IT sector and are expected to strengthen local businesses, support job retention and creation, and contribute to Ukraine’s economic resilience.
The Business Accelerator was launched earlier this year to strengthen partnerships between Swedish small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and companies in Ukraine. Through financial and strategic support, the programme helps Swedish companies establish or expand long-term commercial partnerships in the Ukrainian market.
The first approved projects are within the digital and IT sectors. The sector plays an important role in Ukraine's economy and has continued to develop despite the challenges facing the country. Ukraine's IT sector has built strong international competitiveness over many years and delivers digital expertise and services to companies around the world. Swedfund already has investments in Ukraine's IT sector as part of its efforts to strengthen private sector development and economic resilience.
Through the support, Swedish companies are given better opportunities to invest, share knowledge and develop business together with Ukrainian partners. This can help strengthen local businesses, retain existing jobs, and create conditions for new employment. At the same time, long-term business partnerships can contribute to economic activity and continued private sector development in Ukraine.
