
Swedfund Business Accelerator
Introduction
The Swedfund Business Accelerator provides financial and strategic support to Swedish small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) seeking to establish or expand commercial partnerships in Ukraine. The programme aims to support sustainable business development while contributing to Ukraine’s economic recovery.

Why apply?
By joining the Swedfund Business Accelerator, your company can:
- Receive financial support with the objective of promoting the establishment and growth in Ukraine. The support may cover a maximum of 49% of the estimated total cost of the project and can cover both goods and services.
- Contribute to economic recovery and sustainable development.
- Benefit from Swedfund’s and Business Sweden’s local presence in Kyiv and gain access to local expertise and partnerships in Ukraine.
What the support can be used for
The purpose of the instrument is to support the growth of sustainable, profitable and productive small and medium-sized enterprises in Ukraine. Support may be granted for investments related to the establishment of a Swedish company’s operations in Ukraine.
Projects supported by the Swedfund Business Accelerator must be based on commercial partnerships between Swedish companies and local partners. Each project must have clear objectives and strategies with a focus on long-term commercial sustainability, with support from Business Sweden.
The support may be used for:
- Investments in equipment and machinery.
- Knowledge transfer, such as training and capacity building for the local partner.
- Demonstrators.
In cases where equipment is part of the project, a condition for support is that equipment corresponding to the loan amount must be donated to the local partner at the end of the project.
Who can apply?
To apply to the Swedfund Business Accelerator, a company must:
- Be a Swedish limited liability company (aktiebolag).
- Have less than 250 employees and either an annual turnover below €50 million or a balance sheet below €43 million.
- Have sufficient financial and staffing resources to carry out the project successfully.
Partnership and collaboration
All projects must include a local partner, which must be a privately owned, registered company in Ukraine. Examples of partnership structures include:
- Distributor
- Supplier
- Joint venture
- Subsidiary
