Before joining Swedfund, Maria Hammarskjöld Håkansson has 20 years of experience from a variety of senior positions at Ericsson. She has also worked a number of years in the shipping industry.

She has held several board positions as is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Munters Group. Maria Hammarskjöld Håkansson holds a Master of Science in Business Administration with a major in business control and accounting from University of Stockholm.
