Malawi intends to increase its share of renewable energy production due to challenges with the electricity supply and low energy access.

The feasibility study and procurement preparation project aim to rehabilitate two power stations in Malawi by assessing rehabilitation needs, potential upgrade capacity and exploring financing alternatives for project implementation.

The aim is to improve the supply of renewable energy production at scale, enhance energy supply and contribute to the decarbonisation of the country’s energy system.
