Sustainability reporting

• We abide to the International Integrated Reporting Council’s (IIRC) framework

• We apply the Global Reporting Initiative’s (GRI) framework for reporting sustainability

• We report our work with the implementation of the UN Global Compacts 10 principles in an annual Communication on Progress (COP)

• We annually report to the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI)

Portfolio companies

• We have great insight into and an active role in all the companies that we invest in, whether we provide loans or act as a part owner

• In addition to financial reporting and accounting each portfolio company must report annually on their work within several areas, such as environment, social circumstances, anti-corruption and gender

Goals and KPIs

• Our strategic sustainability goals were adopted in 2013 and permeate everything we d

• In conjunction with the IMF’s annual meeting in Washington DC in October 2013 Swedfund and around thirty bi- and multilateral development financiers endorsed a mutual method of measuring the results of development

• Each investment decision is preceded by a revision of socio-economic, environmental, social and ethical conditions

Anti-corruption

• We have developed and implemented routines to describe how Swedfund’s Crisis Group handles any suspicion of corruption and we advise Senior Investment Managers as well as Swedfund’s board members within the portfolio companies

• Swedfund’s Country Corruption Assessment Tool, which combines three international indexes against corruption (World Bank Control of Corruption Index, Transparency International Corruption Perception Index (CPI), OECD Export Credit Premium Group), is a vital tool which Swedfund has developed and which is now applied in the Due Diligence process

• With Swedfund’s Anti-Corruption Management System we want to clearly communicate our anti-corruption commitment and requirements, but also provide concrete support and guidance to our portfolio companies.

• Swedfund’s fourth strategic sustainability goal refers to anti-corruption in which Swedfund will conduct an active anti-corruption work, both internally and in its portfolio companies

Tax Policy

Swedfund has during the last couple of years worked actively on how we address tax in our investment activities and has had a continuous tax dialogue with our stakeholders. This has resulted in a recently adopted tax policy.

The purpose of this tax policy is to state Swedfund’s position on how we address tax in our investment activities to all of our stakeholders, potential investment partners and investee companies.
